Just over a year ago, with my Nephew Zev’s diagnosis, I was introduced to Angelman Syndrome (‘AS’). I assume, this was likely the first time many of you, who supported our efforts had heard of Angelman Syndrome. A short time later Maria Gregoriou and I decided to dedicate our run to raise both awareness and funds we hope will assist in bringing the cure one step closer..
On a daily basis most of us take for granted the simplest of things such as walking and talking and one year from diagnosis, I have to say how much I admire my bro and sis in laws. They have not only fully embraced this and are doing everything in their power to give their little guy every opportunity to achieve these tasks but have become directly involved with FAST (Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics) to cure Angelman Syndrome and give every child with AS this opportunity.
For the second year, Maria Gregoriou and I are asking for your support and are running the 10km race on Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend 2018 to raise funds and awareness for AS. Please help give all children with AS a chance to walk or even talk, two simple things which most of us take for granted every day. Thanks for your support!!
